JOB SUMMARY The Applications Engineer position assists NPC customers with pump application needs, while supporting the sales and profit objectives of the company.
This position will provide customers with quotations to meet customer specifications and product support to customers and sales personnel.
Partners with sales and engineering departments to insure proper applications method(s) are followed and to support same with proper documentation.
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSProvide technical support, prepare and submit quotations, technical documents, proposals and submittals to customers and sales personnel.Review standard municipal and industrial specifications and apply National Pump product to applications.
Provide written technical data instructions to Engineering related to information needed to process orders.
May be required to attend trade shows on a local and or national level.
Additional duties and/or projects as assigned.
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assists with sales related duties to include contacting customers, reviewing agreements, updating and entering information into software applications.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Training, Experience, Skills)Associate degree or equivalent experience working with pumps.
Strong pump knowledge is preferredPeople/communications skills, both oral and written is required.
Must be able to speak and write in English and able to work in a fast paced environment.
Must possess excellent computer skills in excel, word, outlook and other various types of computer software.Ability to understand and apply all aspects of proper engineering applications to general pump specifications.
