REQUIREMENT

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation & Robotics Simulation Engineer with hands-on development experience in ROBOGUIDE, EMULATE3D, or similar digital twin/simulation software. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, simulating, and validating robotic and automated systems to support manufacturing and material handling applications and for application in classroom training settings. This role requires a strong understanding of industrial automation, robot programming, and integration of advanced manufacturing technologies.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and validate digital twins of robotic and automation systems using ROBOGUIDE, EMULATE3D, or comparable tools.

Create digital twin/simulation models of automated processes to simulate and optimize system performance before deployment.

Program and simulate FANUC or comparable industrial robots in virtual environments.

Integrate, design, and test comprehensive automation solutions, encompassing various electromechanical scenarios, including conveyors, robotic arms, sensors, PLCs, and other specialized technical applications. (welding, laser processing, additive manufacturing)

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (controls, mechanical, and electrical) to ensure integrated system design and optimal performance.

Collaborate with IT to gather and analyze data.

Analyze and troubleshoot simulation results to identify areas for design improvement.

Provide technical support for commissioning and integration of digital twins/simulation environments.

Develop technical documentation and training guides for digital twins/simulations.

Maintain and document simulation files, robot programs, and integration plans.

Support project planning, estimation, and client presentations with simulation visuals and performance data.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Proficiency in ROBOGUIDE and EMULATE3D, or similar simulation software (e.g., Siemens Process Simulate, Visual Components).

5+ years of experience in robotic automation and system integration.

Experience with FANUC or comparable robot brands (ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa).

Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, etc.).

Experience in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).

EDUCATIONAL, CLEARANCE AND CERTIFICATION

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering (or equivalent experience).

FANUC HandlingTool certification preferred

Hands-on commissioning experience in industrial environments.

Familiarity with safety standards related to robotic automation (ANSI/RIA, ISO 10218).

Experience with version control systems and collaborative engineering tools.

Must be a US Citizen.

PHYSICAL/WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Mobility, hearing, and visual abilities to support hands-on manufacturing, education, research, and technology development projects in an industrial environment.

TRAVEL

Approximately 25% travel is anticipated and will be performed under the guidelines of Federal Travel Regulations and/or Joint Travel Regulations.
