Position SummaryrnWe are seeking a Product Development Engineer to support transitioning new products from RD to production and improve manufacturability of existing products.
The Product Development Engineer will be engaged with new products, product redesign, and helping develop and implement fabrication and assembly processes with manufacturing support staff.
Candidate must be self-motivating, expected to use their engineer skillset to solve problems, and have a mind for product and process continual improvement.
Products range from low-rate, high-mix, and high-precision components, complex systems and assemblies for military and high-end applications, to high-rate commercial-sector items.
rnPreference will be given to candidates with experience in the following areas:rnrnDesign for Manufacturing (DFM) - RequiredrnProficiency in 3D CAD modeling and drawing creation - RequiredrnDesign of production tooling/fixtures for quality and assembly consistencyrnSet up and support of new product linesrnGeneral knowledge of various fabrication/manufacturing processes such as: CNC machining, sheet metal cutting/forming, injection molding, rotational molding, tube assembly fabrication, etc...rnGeometric Dimensioning Tolerancing (GDT - ASME Y14.5)rnrnSpecific responsibilitiesrnrnDFM: Redesign existing products for manufacturability and assist RD in new designs before reaching production.rnProcess Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for issues/changes identified during productionrnPlan, design and implement manufacturing and assembly processes for new product developmentrnWork with design engineers to determine critical-to-function features and determine best methods to ensure quality and reliability while maintaining ease of manufacturing/assemblyrnDetermine parts, equipment, and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specificationsrnDesign tooling and fixturing for production and quality controlrnDeveloping assembly work instructions and manufacturing travelerrnrnPosition RequirementsrnrnB.S.
