Job DescriptionThe Laboratory Manager is responsible for laboratory testing, reporting laboratory results, technician scheduling, project management, marketing, preparing project proposals and estimates, and yearly calibrations. This position works directly with clients, engineers, foremen, and state agency representatives. Travel is required to job sites and industry events.

Job Responsibilities

· Complete weekly timecard, expenses, and mileage reports and submit to upper management. · Schedule both staff and clients to cover work in the immediate area and coordinate with other managers to provide technicians for remote onsite testing.· Maintain upkeep of lab, including but not limited to cleanliness, organization, sample storage, calibrations, and records. · Maintain CCRL accreditation and follows the requirements of SolTerra’s Quality System’s Manual, including employee training records, client complaints, inventory, calibration records, and proficiency sample testing.· Create a healthy work environment that promotes accountability through proactive monitoring of both projects and technicians. · Research and distribute knowledge on technical aspects of all Laramie projects to best serve our clients and mitigate risk.· Meet the set company key performance indicators including management of technician’s utilization, project multipliers, laboratory revenue, and profit. · Monitor test progress through completion, verify results are accurate, re – test samples when needed, and report results to upper management and/or clients.· Monitor project budgets on a weekly basis.· Enforce and practice company policies and procedures.

Requirements (in additional to minimum requirement)Education/Experience - Bachelor’s degree in science/engineering related field- 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role Knowledge/Skills- Construction experience - Ability to read construction plans & specifications

Certifications Expected within 12 Months of Hire

· ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector· ACI Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician Certification· ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician Certification· ACI Aggregate Testing Technician Certification

· WYDOT Concrete Technician Certification · WYDOT Asphalt Technician Certification· WYDOT Aggregates Technician Certification

Minimum Requirements

Education/Experience· High School Diploma· 2 years experience with asphalt, soils, and concrete testing· ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Certification· Valid driver’s license
