The Structural Engineer will be responsible for providing designs, analyses, and consulting for a variety of building and non-building structures supporting DOE/NNSA and commercial nuclear projects and missions.
Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and coordinate structural engineering and multi-disciplined team/design projects while engaged in the planning, design, and construction phases of engineering projects. (Senior Level)
Prepare and review of calculations, drawings, and specifications relating to seismic and wind analyses, foundation design, structural framing analyses and design, and bracing analyses and design.
Perform analysis utilizing hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate structures.
Conduct construction document reviews as required.
Perform facility walkdowns as required.
Coordinate and iterate design efforts with other engineering disciplines and customer stakeholders.
Perform all work under quality assurance requirements, which conform to the company Quality Assurance Program and/or regulatory requirements from other U.S. government agencies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil / Structural Engineering.
3+ years of design or field experience.
Familiarity with computer aided drafting applications is required.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience with structural analysis hand calculations, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software. (i.e. STAAD.Pro, SAP2000)
2+ years of experience in specification preparation, construction document preparation, and related phases of engineering.
Experience in renovating/modifying existing facilities is a plus.
Experience in DOE/NNSA or commercial nuclear industries is a plus.
Ability to obtain and to maintain US security clearance is preferred.
