This position is for RTC Aerospaces sister company, Vanderhorst Brothers, Inc. (VBI), located in Simi Valley, CA. RTC Aerospace is a 60-year-old aerospace manufacturer specializing in complex, high-tolerance parts, with four facilities nationwide. We focus on lean-cell manufacturing and industry-leading solutions.

How Youll Make An Impact

The Quality Engineer will ensure compliance with customer engineering and quality requirements throughout the production process, from receipt of purchase order to product delivery. This includes managing customer-specific quality requirements, procurement, document control, contract review, and job planning. The role requires high concentration and multitasking, reporting to the Quality Manager.

What Youll Be Doing

Working full-time onsite at our Fife, WA location.

Contract review of customer purchase orders for compliance and risk assessment.

Review and approval of raw material purchase orders and internal work orders.

Collaborating with planning, outside processors, and customers to create and approve manufacturing plans.

Supporting QA activities such as risk management, audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.

Adhering to all safety guidelines and policies.

Performing additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Experience collaborating with manufacturing, QA, engineering, and sales teams to meet customer requirements.

Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and handle interruptions.

Team-oriented attitude with a proactive approach.

Preferred Qualifications

Five years experience in aerospace quality roles.

Proficiency in QMS and AS9100 standards.

Knowledge of OEM planning, customer quality requirements, heat treat, supplier selection, and raw material procurement.

Experience with Microsoft Office and MRP systems.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Includes lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, reaching, and computer use in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and potential exposure to noise, dust, and fumes.

Compensation & Benefits

Includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and 401(k). The salary range for California onsite applicants is $80,000-$100,000 annually, depending on experience. Other locations may vary.
