Position Overview:
The Charge RN plays a vital role in leading the nursing team during the day shift in the Emergency Room.
Supervise and mentor nursing and support staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Assess and assign staffing levels based on availability, abilities, patient census, and acuity.
Provide direct patient care when necessary, ensuring high-quality service.
Assist staff with problem-solving and operational challenges by floating between teams as needed.
May take direct patient assignments to maintain optimal staffing.
Evaluate patient care effectiveness and address any issues impacting patient outcomes.
Address complaints regarding patient care and coordinate resolutions through established channels.
Handle role-specific duties, including order entry, patient admissions/discharges, and transfer coordination.
Ensure staff have the required equipment and supplies for safe, quality patient care.
Integrate evidence-based practices into clinical operations while promoting professional growth.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Associate's degree required.
BSN degree preferred.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire.
License:
Registered Nurse licensed to practice in Kentucky.
Certification in specialty area preferred.
