Position: Senior Automation Controls Engineer
Location: Monroe, NC
Compensation: Up to $160,000/year
Experience Required:
10 years of experience in a highly automated manufacturing environment.
5 years of controls engineering experience in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing setting.
Required Education: A minimum of a 4-year degree in Industrial Automation, Electrical, Controls, or Electronics Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
Interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats.
Define problems, collect relevant data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and develop effective short-term and long-term solutions.
Apply expertise in industrial networking and communication.
Create and implement engineering diagrams, plans, and models tailored to product and customer requirements, ensuring practical and functional solutions.
Facilitate collaboration among key stakeholders, including corporate and plant engineering teams.
Influence decision-making through data analysis and critical reasoning skills.
Utilize problem-solving methodologies such as 5-Why, A3, and 8D to overcome practical challenges.
Qualifications:
Familiarity with MES (Aveva) and ERP (SAP) is a plus.
Strong computer skills with the ability to organize databases and create structured data systems for team use.
Deep knowledge of PLCs, vision systems, laser and camera programming, and networking.
Experience with PLC software and hardware, particularly Allen Bradley (Micrologix, CompactLogix, and GuardLogix).
Proficiency in industrial robotics, including Fanuc, Motoman, and Universal Cobots.
Understanding of automation fundamentals and key components such as light curtains, sensors, PLC programs, and logic systems.
