Position Summary

The Controller plays a key leadership role in managing Olympia’s accounting operations and financial reporting. This position ensures timely and accurate financial data that supports operational performance, strategic decision-making, and regulatory compliance. The Controller is a hands-on leader who develops people, strengthens controls, and actively contributes to a high-performance culture grounded in our values of humility, customer focus, and a get-it-done attitude.

Essential Functions

Oversee all general ledger activity and ensure accurate and timely closing of the books on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Maintain and continuously improve the chart of accounts and financial statement structures.

Manage and support all core accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit & Collections, Payroll, and Fixed Assets.

Prepare monthly account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies proactively.

Lead the company’s external audit process and annual tax preparation activities, partnering with external firms.

File sales tax and property returns accurately and timely; ensure all regulatory filings are complete.

Maintain accurate daily cash reporting and establish internal controls for cash disbursements.

Monitor inventory and collaborate with the Inventory Analyst on cycle counts and inventory valuation.

Build and lead a high-performing accounting team; provide ongoing coaching, development, and performance management.

Partner with leadership across departments to deliver accurate financial analysis and operational insights.

Establish and enforce accounting policies, internal controls, and process improvements.

Lead ad hoc financial projects and provide critical decision-support data to executive leadership.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with prior supervisory responsibility.

Expertise in GAAP, internal controls, and month-end close processes.

Experience managing external audits and tax compliance.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial systems and reporting tools.

Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.

Preferred Qualifications

CPA or progress toward certification.

Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or multi-entity business environment.

Familiarity with ERP systems, ADP, and/or Acumatica platforms a plus.

Location: Pittston, PA (hybrid)

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday
