Watson is growing and looking to hire a full time Quality Control Supervisor to join its team. The position is a first shift, full-time hourly position with opportunity for overtime. This Quality Group position leads day to day quality inspection and evaluation activities directed at achieving throughput consistent with established department milestones.
Requirements
Required Skills/Experience:
(3) years steel fabrication industry or equivalent
Steel fabrication processing techniques and quality standards
Protective coating application methods and quality standards
Inspection record management
Personnel supervision
Preferred Skills/Experience:
AWS QC1 certification
NDE procedures
ASTM material and testing specifications
ERP/MRP structure and use
Strong verbal/written communication skills
Responsibilities:
• Review and interpret contract documents and standard specifications pertinent to quality requirements.
• Review shop drawings prepared for contract compliance and quality standards.
• Perform and/or assign and monitor qualified personnel to perform material receipt, in-process and final inspections.
• Monitor production activities to ensure process control procedures are properly implemented.
• Prepare inspection records.
• Review subcontractor quality control records.
• Prepare and maintain nonconformance records.
• Monitor nonconforming product disposition activities through re-inspection for acceptance.
• Communicate with other departments to clarify or determine product quality requirements.
• Periodically repeat inspections to verify work of quality inspectors and subcontractors.
• Manage the inspection equipment calibration process.
• Assist in training personnel.
• Identify equipment, personnel and training needs directed at inspection program process improvement.
• Other duties as required.
