SUMMARY

Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Corporate Quality Control Manager for our corporate office. The Quality Manager implements our ISO 9001 program and provides support, direction, and leadership for Quality Control functions for the Company's operations. Holds responsibility for the quality control program and takes action to further strengthen it. Coordinates, directs, and promotes quality initiatives on sites to ensure continual improvement. Focus on incident prevention and achieving measurable results in reducing both the frequency and cost of deficiencies. Accomplish this by partnering with operational management in implementing effective and practical solutions that lead to a culture where quality is not compromised. Position manages the program but does not directly supervise any staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the ISO 9001 certification program.

Train the team and new or transferred employees in this process.

Communicate with internal teams to ensure ISO requirements are understood and met.

Lead or coordinate Management Review meetings.

Lead, coordinate, and participate in internal and external audits of the quality management system.

Manage documented information for the quality management system.

Support operational management's requirement to consistently deliver quality services.

Develop and standardize quality control and assurance plans, processes, and procedures; train and assist managers and personnel.

Audit and inspect site conditions and activities; initiate corrective and preventive actions and verify effectiveness of actions taken.

Review all corrective action reports (CARs), ensuring causes are acted on by managers and supervisors and verifying the effectiveness of actions taken.

Keep abreast of developments in quality control practices and legislation, implementing changes to our quality system accordingly.

Liaise with clients and other team organizations on quality issues.

Prepare and present reports of findings, recommendations, and actions to operational management and Executive Staff.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Certification

Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE)

Bachelor's degree in business, IT, logistics, engineering, or related field

At least five (5) years of experience in quality control and reporting in similar operations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must have collaboration skills

Must have strong written and oral communication skills

Must have the ability to organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks with little or no supervision

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint

Must have strong leadership skills

Must have strong auditing skills

Must have the ability to develop and implement policies, programs, plans and processes

Must have the ability to travel outside local area more than 50% of the time

Preferred

OSHA 30-hour construction or general industry course certification a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Position works in office areas as well as throughout job sites, involving moderate exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, moving machinery, etc., typical of a job site.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
