Strong programming skills in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript

Proven experience deploying AI models into software products (e.g., web apps, internal tools, APIs).

FULL DESCRIPTION: As a Software Developer – Bioinformatics, you will lead projects focused on the design, development, and deployment of AI-driven software tools and applications. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex technical problems, building scalable codebases, and transforming cutting-edge AI technologies into real-world solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate AI functionality into core software offerings and internal tools.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

AI Agent Development & Workflow Automation

Develop AI agents that streamline sales, marketing, laboratory and operational workflows.

Create intelligent software tools to automate instrument setup, run monitoring, and data post-processing.

Integrate AI assistants into internal platforms to support the team in decision-making and troubleshooting.

Software for Laboratory Instruments

Build and maintain software that interfaces with lab hardware.

Develop real-time data acquisition and control systems to support automated lab processes.

Implement error detection, predictive maintenance, and system calibration features via AI.

Bioinformatics & Sequencing Data Analysis

Work with scientists to design algorithms to deconvolute raw sequencing data for mutation detection, barcode parsing, and read alignment.

Work with scientists to build end-to-end pipelines for transitioning from PCR-based workflows to next-generation sequencing (NGS).

Optimize computational performance for large-scale data processing using cloud and distributed systems.

AI for Cancer Screening & Diagnostics

Develop models that extract clinically relevant signals from sequencing and omics data for early cancer detection.

Implement explainable techniques to support biomarker interpretation and risk scoring.

Collaborate with biologists and data scientists to refine screening algorithms and validate clinical utility.

Antibody Discovery & Protein Engineering

Train AI models (e.g., LLMs, GNNs, AlphaFold) to predict antibody-antigen interactions and structure-function relationships.

Build recommendation engines to suggest optimal antibodies for specific assay formats or targets. Integrate bioinformatics databases and wet lab data to enhance AI-guided antibody selection.

Documentation & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Document code, model behavior, and data workflows with clarity and reproducibility.

Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure alignment with scientific and business goals. Present findings and roadmap updates in internal reviews and cross-functional meetings.

The selected candidate will also possess:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related technical field.

Strong programming skills in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.

Experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers).

Proven experience deploying AI models into software products (e.g., web apps, internal tools, APIs).

Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Docker, and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

Solid understanding of software architecture, RESTful APIs, and version control (Git).

Excellent communication skills and a passion for solving real-world problems using AI.

Salary Range: $70k-$80k/yr
