Job Description

As a route driver, you will help transport individuals with disabilities using organization vehicles (wheelchair accessible passenger van). Transportation includes picking up and dropping off consumers from their homes and the Vodec Center. Additionally, staff will assist consumers with boarding and exiting the vehicle.

No experience required - on the job training!

Wage: $17.50 per hour

Part-time: Monday-Friday (10 hours per week)

Shifts: 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm

Location: Omaha, NE

Bonus: $1,000 (paid in one increment after six months of continued employment)

Responsibilities and Duties

Drive vehicle to transport consumers over specified routes

Follow the local (and/or rural route) of transportation as assigned by your supervisor

Complete transportation schedules within appropriate time frames

Perform simple vehicle emergency functions (change tires, seek help and assistance)

Report delays or accidents according to the organization’s policies

Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort

Assist passengers on and off the vehicle

Inspect vehicle and maintains adequate fluid levels

Qualifications Include

Must be at least 19 years of age

Satisfactory driving record (no more than three moving violations in the most recent 36-month period)

Valid driver’s license appropriate for vehicle type being required to operate

Must be able to pass a background check
