Core Duties and Responsibilities:
Mold Manufacturing & Repair:
Manufacture high-quality molds for injection molding machines from conception to completion.
Perform expert disassembles, modifications, and re-assemblies of injection molds for repair and improvement.
Apply a deep understanding of the injection molding process to facilitate effective mold making and repair strategies.
General Machining Expertise:
Interpret and accurately work from complex technical drawings and blueprints.
Utilize computer systems proficiently for printing drawings and researching innovative solutions or components for various projects.
Manual Machine Operation:
Operate a range of manual machines including lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders (both Internal Diameter and Outer Diameter) with precision.
CNC Operation & Programming:
Conduct routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Maintain and organize all CNC-related tooling, ensuring they are in excellent working condition and readily accessible.
Perform precise job setups in CNC machines.
Program CNC machines effectively using conversational input mode.
Load and meticulously double-check CAM programs in CNC machines, verifying correct tool selection, speeds, and feeds for specific tools and materials.
Execute CAM programs with a strong focus on minimal risk and maximum efficiency.
Production Support (Training Provided):
Ability to be trained to safely and efficiently operate Injection Molding machines.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in making molds for injection molding machines.
Strong foundational understanding of the injection molding process.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings.
Proficiency in operating computer systems for technical and research purposes.
Expertise in operating manual machines, including lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders (ID and OD).
Experience with routine maintenance, tooling organization, setup, and conversational programming of CNC machines.
Commitment to running CAM programs with precision and safety.
Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
Preferred (Optional) Skills:
Ability to create CAM programs directly from 3D models, specifically with Solidworks and HSMWorks.
