Job Title: Machinist

Location: Austin, TX

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our dynamic team focused on providing economical and convenient access to space through the design, manufacture, and operation of launch and spacecraft vehicles. The Machinist will play a pivotal role in machining aerospace and rocket parts, ranging from nuts and bolts to full thrust chamber components, using a variety of materials such as copper, aluminum, steel, and hard carbon.

Responsibilities

Machine high-quality parts according to technical drawings and diagrammed instructions.

Inspect and document manufactured parts to ensure quality standards are met.

Perform machine setups for part manufacturing and make necessary edits.

Abide by all safety standards and report any safety or maintenance concerns to management immediately.

Maintain clean and organized work areas.

Uphold a high standard of quality, taking pride in your work.

Be available to work 1st or 2nd shifts, with overtime as needed.Essential Skills

Minimum of 6+ years experience as a CNC Machinist with 4 and 5-axis mill and lathe experience.

Experience with conversational programming, preferably Mazatrol.

Proficiency in working with multiple materials to produce high-tolerance complex components/parts.

Ability to perform physically demanding work including standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Solid math and computer skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with mill/turn operations.

Experience with Okuma machines.

Level 3 Machinist qualification is ideal.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work in a mix of climate and non-climate controlled environments. Current openings include a mix of 1st and 2nd shifts. Expect to work 48-50 hours per week with optional Saturday shifts encouraged. 1st Shift: Monday-Thursday 6AM-4:30PM, Friday 6AM-2:30PM; 2nd Shift: Monday-Thursday 4PM-2:30AM, Friday 2PM-10PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bertram, Texas.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $46.00/hr.
