Overview

We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (PRN), also referred to as a Med Tech at Riverview Regional Medical Center a member of Prime Healthcare. The Medical Lab Technician (MLT) requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team. They play an important role in the diagnostic process, contributing significantly to patient care and treatment. This position is on a per diem (PRN) basis, meaning as needed.

Shift's Available: Nights

Employment Type: Per Diem (PRN)

Shift Hours: 5:00PM - 5:30AM or 6:00PM - 6:30AM Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): perform laboratory tests on blood, tissues, and other bodily fluids to aid in the diagnosis of diseases and conditions, this may include routine tests as well as specialized tests

interpret lab test results and identify any abnormalities, ensure the accuracy and reliability of these results to assist doctors in making informed decisions about patient care

implement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain high standards in laboratory testing, you may also calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment

keep accurate and detailed records of all laboratory tests performed and their results, input data into our laboratory information systems

ensure all laboratory operations comply with hospital policies, governmental regulations, and accreditation requirements

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required

ASCP certification, or equivalent, required within one year of employment

Associates Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or completion of coursework in a program for MLT.

1 year of hospital laboratory work experience preferred
