Description: ABOUT THE ROLE\nThe Automation Engineer I is responsible for plant process control system [PCS] specification, application programming, testing, commissioning and maintenance.
The incumbent applies the PCS as a tool for improvement of plant performance including rate, availability, OEE and MTBF.
Other responsibilities include facilitating use of the PCS as a resource for Process, Maintenance, Production, Shipping, Environmental and Quality Departments.

\nManage and maintain all process related hardware, software and documentation within the confine of the control room and server room.\nSupport the maintenance and operation of plant electrical systems and troubleshooting of electrical and control system problems.\nWorking knowledge of PLC programming and process control systems (ControlLogix, PLC-5 and SLC 500). Experience in instrumentation, motors, starters and VFD's, communication networks (Modbus, Modbus Plus, Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc.).\nPrevent downtime due to faults; continuous improvement to extend life of existing PCS and facilitate eventual upgrade or replacement.\nProgramming of Rockwell Contrologix PLC's, Factorytalk View se HMI's, plant pax,VMWare Network Virtualization.\nSupport installation of new plant equipment from conception to operation.
Assure integration of new systems into plant operations.\nUse of the PCS to provide information for management or other reporting functions (high degree of involvement with environmental reporting and permit compliance).\nMaintain a standard set of specifications for consistent application related to modifications or additions.\nMaintain, organize, prepare, review and revise drawings as required.\nExtensive knowledge of, instrumentations, high level control and expert systems, PLC control and machinery interlocking systems, variable speed drives and motor control systems.\nIdentify improvement opportunities to maximize equipment life cycle and efficiency.\nWork closely with Electrical Supervisor, Process Engineers to analyze, improve and document all aspects of operations.\n\nWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOREducation: Bachelor's degree\nField of Study Preferred: Electrical Engineering or similar field \nRequired Work Experience: 1-3 years \nRequired Computer and Software Skills: SAP, AutoCAD, VMWare, Microsoft Office, (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)Additional Requirements: \n\nSelf-starter/ highly motivated team player.\nDemonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
