Position Description
Responsible for leading and executing strategic initiatives focused on enhancing member experiences through technology. This role will oversee key projects, including a digital banking migration, phone system upgrade, chat platform enhancements, and the integration of AI and automation and the integration of modern payment technologies. The Digital Technology Project Manager is a results-driven project leader with a deep understanding of digital banking, fintech solutions, and emerging technologies in financial services. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong project management background, a deep understanding of fintech and payments technology, and experience in managing credit union operations. This critical role will drive innovation while ensuring a smooth transition for both members and employees.
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field. 5+ years of experience managing large-scale technology, digital banking, payments systems, or fintech projects in a credit union or financial institution. Experience leading digital banking platform migrations, payments technology integrations, AI/chatbot implementations, or phone system upgrades is highly preferred. Project management certification (PMP, Agile, or equivalent) is a plus. Deep understanding of digital banking platforms, payments technologies (EMV, contactless, mobile wallets, P2P), fintech solutions, automation tools, and AI-driven services. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Position Responsibilities
• Develop and execute and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and risk assessments for all digital technology initiatives.
• Act as the primary liaison between IT, operations, compliance, marketing, member service teams, and payments vendors to ensure alignment on all digital initiatives.
• Provide regular project updates and ongoing support of KPI reports, and risk assessments to executive leadership and the board.
• Oversee the end-to-end digital banking migration, ensuring a seamless transition with minimal disruption to members.
• Work closely with vendors, IT, and member service teams to integrate and optimize new digital banking features.
• Manage the phone system modernization project, ensuring improved call handling, self-service options, and integration with digital channels.
• Implement AI-driven chat solutions to enhance self-service capabilities and improve member interactions.
• Lead various automation projects to streamline internal processes, reduce manual tasks, and improve efficiency across departments.
• Analyze member engagement data to identify opportunities for predictive analytics and personalized banking experiences.
• Oversee the integration of modern payments technologies, including digital wallets, and digital card management services into the credit union’s offerings.
• Collaborate with payment providers and fintech vendors to ensure seamless, secure, and efficient payment solutions for members.
• Drive initiatives related to EMV, tokenization, and mobile payment solutions to enhance member payment experiences.
• Explore new payment technologies, such as blockchain or instant payments, to remain competitive in the financial services space.
• Lead internal training and adoption strategies to ensure employees are well-equipped to use new digital tools and payments technologies effectively.
• Create communication channels for members, and develop educational materials and support resources to improve adoption.
• Identify and resolve potential member pain points related to system changes, ensuring a smooth transition.
• Ensure all digital transformation projects, particularly payments solutions, adhere to regulatory requirements, cybersecurity standards, and data privacy laws (NCUA, FFIEC, GDPR, PCI-DSS, etc.).
• Stay ahead of emerging fintech trends, digital banking innovations, payments technologies, and AI advancements to drive continuous improvement.
• Gather feedback from members and staff to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with internal teams to implement process enhancements that improve member satisfaction.
• Serve as a liaison between departments such as operations, marketing, IT, and frontline staff.
• Facilitate communication and alignment between teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to member experience projects.
• Prepare reports and presentations summarizing project outcomes and insights.
• Conduct research on industry trends and best practices to support decision-making.
• Consistently demonstrate and promote a positive attitude toward CU members, staff and internal members.
• Work with cross functional teams to improve member retention, member engagement and overall member experience.
• Drive innovative and creative solutions to increase member engagement.
• Think critically to solve member pain points in the member journey.
• Resolve member complaints and answer escalated Member calls as needed.
• Provide support in various areas as needed.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.

Compensation and Job Title is commensurate with experience and may fall under the following pay ranges:
Sr. Digital Technology Project Manager- $107,281 to $160,921 annually
