As the sous chef, you will be the second-in-command in our kitchen, assisting the executive chef with day-to-day operations, supervising staff, ensuring food quality, and potentially contributing to menu development and recipe creation.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Management:
Supervise kitchen staff.
Delegate tasks and ensure efficient workflow.
Train new staff and provide ongoing support.
May be responsible for scheduling and managing payroll.
Oversee food preparation and cooking, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
Food Quality and Standards:
Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation.
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and adhere to food safety regulations.
Monitor food costs and inventory levels.
Menu and Recipe Development:
Assist with menu planning and recipe development.
May be responsible for creating new menu items or specials.
Operational Support:
Assist with ordering and receiving inventory.
Manage kitchen equipment and ensure it is in good working order.
May be responsible for opening or closing the kitchen.
Other Duties:
May be called upon to take on additional responsibilities in the absence of the executive chef.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and other restaurant personnel.
Address customer issues and concerns promptly.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to be on your feet for long periods.
Must have or be able to acquire an AZ Food Handlers card from an accredited program.
Must be able to reliably commute to work.
Previous management experience.
