The Front Office Coordinator is the first point of contact for patients in a general dental practice. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming and organized environment while managing the day-to-day front desk operations, including scheduling, patient communications, insurance verification, and billing coordination.Key Responsibilities:
Patient Interaction:
Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival.
Answer phones, respond to emails, and handle patient inquiries.
Schedule and confirm appointments, recall visits, and follow-ups.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate patient records in the dental software system.
Check patients in and out, ensuring all paperwork and forms are completed.
Collect and post payments, provide receipts, and handle financial arrangements.
Insurance and Billing:
Verify dental insurance coverage and benefits.
Submit claims and pre-authorizations to insurance companies.
Follow up on outstanding claims and balances.
Office Support:
Coordinate with back-office clinical team for efficient patient flow.
Maintain cleanliness and order of the reception area.
Assist with office inventory, ordering supplies when needed.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required); associate’s degree or dental office training preferred.
1+ years of experience in a dental office front desk or similar healthcare setting.
Knowledge of dental terminology, insurance procedures, and HIPAA regulations.
Proficient in dental practice management software Dentrix
Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
Friendly, professional, and compassionate demeanor.Work Environment:

Requires sitting, using a computer, phone, and occasional lifting of office supplies.
