Candidates will be taught to perform routine preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, and troubleshooting / repairing equipment failures. This position will employ a pay for knowledge concept, so as you obtain knowledge and can demonstrate proficiency in the required skill sets, your pay will increase with each step.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Rasper/Granulator Op-Tech will provide the necessary support in operations and maintenance to the associated equipment, so the team is able to produce raw feedstock for granulation production and clean steel in the safest and most efficient manner. This technician’s role is key to the optimization for the equipment to run efficiently. As Op-Tech you will provide the necessary support in operations and maintenance. You will communicate and plan for scheduled maintenance and repairs that is best for the company.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Comply with all safety requirements
Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties
Assist in scheduled maintenance and be part of a proactive team to keep equipment safe and running efficiently.
Assist knife changes and flips on Rasper and Granulators.
Optimize production:
Loading of feed hoppers
Moving product finished and staged with forklifts
Daily housekeeping responsibilities
Maintain production area
Keep equipment clean and orderly following prescribed safety regulations
Ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels of the organization
Other duties as assigned
EDUCATIONAL AND JOB EXPERIENCE:
High school Diploma or GED equivalent
Mechanical background in production
Previous leadership experience
ABILITIES REQUIRED

The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, turning, climbing to a significant degree, and/or pulling of controls
LICENSING AND CERTIFICATION
Forklift (forklift training will be provided) for use when bagging and staging product.
