Job Title: HVAC Controls Design Engineer
Position Overview:
As an HVAC Controls Design Engineer, you will design building automation controls projects in collaboration with customers and sales teams. Your key responsibilities include:
Working with Sales and Account Managers to meet customer expectations.
Communicating with building owners, contractors, and field support staff.
Reviewing sales scopes and understanding mechanical drawings.
Participating in turnover meetings to assess sales estimates and project layouts.
Selecting cost-effective products and installation methods.
Preparing design documents, including system layouts and electrical drawings.
Providing technical support to installation teams.
Designing network architecture for operator workstations and controllers.
Developing HVAC equipment operation sequences.
Managing the ordering of products and equipment.
Collaborating with Project Managers to ensure proper system installation.
Position Requirements:Include but not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Minimum 2 years of technical education and relevant field experience.
Preferred experience with Building Automation Systems and familiarity with LON and BACnet protocols.
Strong computer skills and electrical troubleshooting experience are required.
Solid understanding of HVAC and IT systems.
Excellent communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
Candidates must pass a background check and have a valid drivers license.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities; flexibility to adapt to change.
Ability to collaborate effectively, especially in stressful situations.
Proficiency in MS Office 365.
Knowledge of the industry is a plus.
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities include creating operations and maintenance (O&M) manuals.
Effective communication in visual, oral, and written formats.
Ability to manage stress and maintain a cooperative demeanor with customers.
Primarily office-based with occasional site visits.
