Job Description
We are looking for an Entry-Level Accountant to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia. This is a long-term contract position ideal for candidates eager to grow their accounting skills while contributing to a dynamic and collaborative environment. The role involves managing various accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and assisting with audits and reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
• Process accounts payable using purchase orders in NetSuite, maintain vendor records, and file 1099 reports.
• Reconcile company credit card transactions, collect and organize staff receipts, and manage expense reports through NetSuite.
• Handle and reconcile employee travel-related expenses with accuracy.
• Assist in preparing monthly journal entries during the closing process.
• Manage cash receipts, generate lockbox reports, oversee deposits, and prepare monthly cash import files.
• Prepare invoices, maintain invoice logs, and reconcile accounts receivable while ensuring timely follow-ups on outstanding payments.
• Reconcile health, dental, and long-term disability invoices with payroll and propose relevant journal entries.
• Maintain an organized online filing system for paid bills, vendor data, and consultant contracts.
• Support bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
• Assist with the annual audit process by providing necessary documentation and analysis.• At least 2 years of experience in accounting or related roles.
• Proficiency in using accounting software systems, including NetSuite.
• Strong skills in account coding and reconciliation.
• Familiarity with accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Ability to analyze and prepare accurate accounting entries.
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat for document management.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
