Title: Quality Electrical Supervisor
Location: Charlotte, NC
Hours: 7am-3:30pm
Pay Rate: $85,000
Job Summary:
The Quality Electrical Supervisor’s primary function is to provide guidance and oversight to Quality Electrical Coordinators, to ensure work procedures/best practices are followed. The Quality Electrical Supervisors will work alongside the Electrical Department Manager, Production Manager, QA, and Engineering to oversee and monitor project quality work. They will be responsible for scheduling ongoing testing and inspections for the duration of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure that all quality requirements and documentation are complete for projects, including quality-related data collection and record keeping.
Aids in troubleshooting problems during inspection activities and recommends corrective actions to resolve issues.
Coordinate maintenance and improvement of the ISO quality system as required, including ISO internal and external audits, document control, NCR/CAR.
Keep abreast and comply with related government regulations and relevant codes and practices.
Responsible for monitoring KPIs and conducting management review meetings.
Establish methods to deliver customer products on-spec, on-time and on-budget according to technical drawings, schematics, and other documented specifications in a safe, efficient, and cost-saving manner.
Provide support to the Engineers, Purchasing, and Human Resource departments to ensure adequate and competent resources are available to meet the Production Schedule.
Participate in Manufacturing Kick-off meeting providing feedback to engineering/project management on design reviews, determine schedule, and ensure the design is DFMA proof.
Resolve work problems and coordinate with the Quality department to ensure NCR’s are minimized and recorded following established procedures. Conduct regular ad-hoc inspections of work as performed to improve quality and provide workers with feedback.
Oversee QA testing and documentation for the Electrical portion of the assembly.
Support inspection with UL, IEC, Intertek, etc. representatives.
Ensure standards for safe working conditions are observed in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Conduct and record regular safety talks.
Lead the corrective actions and root cause analysis for discrepant processes and materials. Implement long-term changes for continuous improvement.
Maintain and facilitate effective corrective action and preventive action process.
Perform functions pertaining to discrepant material, including working with other functional areas within the facility and off-site locations to contain and correct the immediate situation, drive to the root cause, and prevent future non-conformances.
Lead Continuous Improvement projects in Quality Department to improve Customer Satisfaction.
Investigate customer issues/ internal issues regarding our product quality and facilitate immediate resolution through permanent corrective actions.
Lead PFEMA process and quality risk assessments and develop plans for process improvements.
Develop and implement Quality control plans for manufacturing processes throughout the facility.
Be an expert resource for Electrical processes.
Perform other duties as assigned by the QA Manager.
Job Specific Requirement/Knowledge/Experience:
Post-secondary education in electrical or manufacturing technology is required.
Qualified Industrial Electrician, trade certification required.
Minimum 5 years’ supervisor experience in manufacturing.
Ability to travel within North America with a valid passport and driver’s license.
