About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Accounting Controller to oversee all aspects of our financial operations. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the company’s accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, small-business environment and enjoys wearing multiple hats.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
Support leadership with financial analysis and insights to guide business decisions.
Maintain and improve accounting systems and processes.
Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff (if applicable).
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a small to mid-sized business.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
