Austin Bridge & Road is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QC/QA Inspector to support aviation-related heavy civil construction projects within the North Texas region. The QC/QA Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities meet project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, with a focus on airfield infrastructure such as runways, taxiways, aprons, and associated civil works.
Responsibilities:
Perform daily inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards
Monitor and document materials, workmanship, and construction methods for conformance to FAA, DOT, and other applicable standards
Conduct field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials
Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, reports, and non-conformance logs
Collaborate with project engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve quality issues in a timely manner
Assist in the development and implementation of project-specific quality control plans (QCPs)
Participate in pre-construction meetings, progress meetings, and quality audits
Ensure all safety protocols are followed during inspection activities
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
Minimum 3 years of QC/QA experience in heavy civil construction, preferably in aviation or airfield projects
Familiarity with FAA specifications, ASTM standards, and local/state DOT requirements
Certifications such as ACI, NICET, or equivalent are highly desirable
Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam)
Requirements:
Field-based role with exposure to active construction sites and varying weather conditions
May require night or weekend work depending on project schedules
