The Senior Automation Controls Engineer serves as a controls and automation SME and will serve as main point of contact for customers and serve as company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. The preferred candidate will have Rockwell Automation Software experience. Responsible for effectively providing process controls support for on-site installation, start-up, maintenance, and operation of the company's modular and mobile natural gas processing plants for the upstream and midstream oil and gas sector.

Responsibilities:

Provide automation support through installation, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of equipment and systems.

Maintain automation systems, inclusive of performing PLC ladder logic, HMI programming and SCADA system management for new or modified equipment.

Ownership and management of controls strategy for the MaCH4 product line.

Oversee electrical panel design, instrumentation selection through factory acceptance testing (FAT), reporting and approvals.

Troubleshoot problems, identify, and implement new or amended system functionality, identify operational process gaps, and take corrective actions.

Recommend and initiate modifications or replacement of equipment which fail to meet operating standards.

Execute initiatives supporting our automation strategy, manage operating workflows and progress continuous improvement opportunities.

Perform project management function for customer projects including needs identification, scheduling, tracking, and reporting.

Develop and write documentation as required (validation project plans, standard operating procedures, qualification summary reports, system audits, technical reports, traceability matrix, etc.).

Work closely with respective SMEs to cover all aspects of processing plant operation, including instrumentation, PLCs, HMIs, and process automation.

Communicate customer management regarding project details.

Interface with contract operators and fabricators to capture lessons learned and document solutions.

Basic Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Process)

5+ years of directly related experience in PLC, HMI programming, and SCADA systems.

Valid Driver's License Ability to travel throughout the region/assigned territory, with flexibility to work overtime, on-call and weekends.

Ability to travel 20-30% of time.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

Experience working in gas processing industry (J-T Plants, mechanical refrigeration units, and cryogenic gas processing)

Process control experience

Automation, remote monitoring and remote operation experience

Familiarization with Stage Gate project management methodology

Experience overseeing FAT tests and approvals

Skills:

PLC and HMI programming utilizing RSLogix 5, 500, 5000, RSView32 and/or FTView ME/SE

Networking: RIO, DH+, D-Net, and Ethernet

Communication Experience with: PLC programming utilizing RSLogix 5, 500, 5000, FactoryTalk Studio software Studio5000, ControlLogix, CompactLogix PowerFlex products and applications Ethernet/IP, with networks including EtherNet, ControlNet, and DeviceNet
