TITLE: Distributed Control System (DCS) Engineer

Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a Distributed Control System (DCS) Engineer direct hire position in Baltimore, MD

Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and support automation solutions using ABB Distributed Control Systems (DCS), with a strong emphasis on the 800xA platform.

Support system integration, upgrades, and troubleshooting activities across various automation projects.

Build and test Human-Machine Interface (HMI) graphics and alarm handling functions within the ABB DCS environment.

Conduct and document Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) procedures.

Lead or assist in the commissioning and startup of DCS systems at customer sites.

Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues, both remotely and on-site.

Collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and clients across multiple disciplines.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

3-5+ years of experience in ABB DCS platforms (800xA)

HMI development

Familiarity with schematics, electrical and instrumentation

Ability to travel, mostly day travel, around the Baltimore, MD area

Understanding of communication protocols
