Job Summary:

The Assistant Controller supports the Vice President in overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, managing audits, and assisting in special projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in GAAP, and financial systems. Offix is an accrual-based company that services customers and carries an inventory.

Primary Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Support the month-end and year-end close processes.

Maintain and enforce internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.

Coordinate and support external audits and tax filings.

Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.

Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts.

Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.

Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Help implement and improve accounting systems and processes.

Stay current with accounting regulations and best practices.

Providing financial information to meet the needs of managers including producing customized financial reports, costing templates, trend analysis on an as needed, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis

Maintaining knowledge of industry trends and ensuring compliance with federal and state legislation

Performing other duties assigned

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred

A minimum of 3-5 years in financial administration with progressive growth in responsibility

Prior experience coaching and mentoring a team in a fast-paced environment

Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling.

Experience with Inventory and customer service.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
