The scheduler is responsible for the execution of the scheduling process within a GI clinical environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Schedules radiology procedures.
Responsible for the execution of the scheduling process in the clinic environment for designated providers.
Obtains pre-certification for all applicable procedures.
Maintains and uphold accurate records of patient protected health information.
Manages the data entry and record-keeping of all documents required to fulfill the scheduling process.
Schedules all appointments accurately and timely to meet the needs of the physician's schedule.
Provides excellent customer service at all times.
Properly educates patients on what to expect when arriving for appointment i.e. preparation instructions, co-pay, etc.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Working knowledge of CPT coding, ICD9 codes and Medical Terminology.

Maintains a clear focus on patient safety in every interaction with every patient.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
One to three years related experience and/or training.
Maintains knowledge, skills, and abilities through ongoing education.
Completes all mandatory reviews/educational required and assigned.
Participates in performance improvement activities.
Is actively committed to meeting / exceeding employee expectations/satisfaction in the performance of job functions.
Maintains compliance with all laws and applicable regulatory requirements. Acts promptly to comply with required changes.
