Smart Hands Network Technician

Description:

We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented technicians to support a large-scale network hardware installation and patching project across multiple enterprise sites. The goal of this initiative is to implement comprehensive network patching coverage, improving system performance, security, and long-term cost efficiency.

Scope of Work:

+ Assist with achieving full network patching coverage across all facilities

+ Contribute to improved uptime, enhanced security, reduced maintenance costs, and optimized performance

+ Work across various departments and adapt to dynamic environments and schedules

+ Facilitate structured cabling strategies that utilize all available ports for future scalability

+ Understand the long-term cost benefit of proactive network expansion

Technician Responsibilities:

+ Pre-Installation: Unbox and prepare equipment, consolidate in staging area, transport to installation sites

+ Installation: Conduct preliminary site surveys, disconnect and replace patch cables, install switch cables, verify functionality

+ Post-Installation: Collect and return decommissioned equipment to centralized location

Key Skills:

+ Basic installation and troubleshooting of network hardware

+ Router and switch setup

+ Inventory control and equipment tracking

+ Physical tasks including unboxing, transporting equipment, and unloading deliveries

Qualifications:

+ Ability to work in varied operational environments (including 24/7 facilities)

+ Comfort working in structured and occasionally disorganized network rooms

+ Willingness to undergo on-the-job training and adapt to increasingly complex site requirements

+ Excellent communication skills to coordinate with project managers and fellow technicians

+ Familiarity with project scheduling and working in tandem with clinic operations

Team Structure & Timeline:

+ Initial team includes network technicians and technical support staff

+ Additional support will scale up as project complexity increases

+ Hands-on training will transition into independent site coverage as proficiency grows

Experience Level: Entry-Level — Great opportunity for those starting out in IT infrastructure or network support roles.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
