POSITION SUMMARY:
The School Principal ensures the smooth operation of the School and provides direction, leadership, and day-to-day management of all educational, administrative and logistical activities. The Principal is cumulatively responsible for all aspects of organizational health, including but not limited to: enacting the school’s vision/mission; overseeing the realization of the School Improvement Plan goals and outcomes; meeting the school’s fundraising and other financial goals; guiding the school’s professional culture; and managing finances, and human resources.

Licensure and Certification in Leadership
3 Years School Leadership experience required
Primary Responsibilities:
· Establishes and maintains an effective learning environment in the school.
· Initiates, designs, and implements programs to meet specific needs of the school aligned with its mission and in the best interests of students.
· Interprets, implements and enforces all School policies, procedures and handbooks.
· Builds and effectuates the master schedule.
· Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum.
· Assumes responsibility for development, implementation, and monitoring of instructional programs.
· Assumes responsibility for recruiting, screening, hiring, training, assigning, and evaluating the school’s professional staff.
· Develops and implements an annual professional development plan.
· Develops and maintains positive relationships with parents, students, employees and the community.
· Implements federal and state grant awards according to the approved budget and narrative and oversees compliance of those grant activities.
· Conducts staff meetings to keep members informed of such things as policy changes and new programs to ensure proper functioning of the school.
· Maintains high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline when necessary.
· Attends special events held to recognize student achievement and attends school sponsored activities, functions and athletic events.
· Supervises the maintenance of all required building records and reports.
· Supervises the daily use of the school facilities for both academic and nonacademic purposes.
· Plans and supervises all safety drills and emergency preparedness procedures.
· Provides for adequate inventory of school property and for the security and accountability for the property.
· Supervises and evaluates the school’s extracurricular activities.
· Serves as an ex officio member of all committees and councils within the school.
· Assumes responsibility for all school correspondence (internal and external communications).
· Establishes and maintains relationships with local community groups and businesses to foster partnerships that support the School’s mission.
· Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the director may from time to time assign.
