With little to no oversight Engineer III is expected to contribute to the corporate security strategy with leadership and other senior staffers and technologists. Recipients of the engineer’s implementations and management include IT infrastructure, application development, operations, audit and end users. With an emphasis on systems, applications, third-party connections, service providers and ancillary systems, is responsible for business-to-business initiatives, third-party relationships, outsourced solutions and vendors. Considered a highly knowledgeable individual, the Engineer III is expected to implement, monitor and manage solutions that address modern day issues.
Works in tandem with architects, the operations center, incident responders, and technology infrastructure and development team members. Develops test plans from architectural design. Identifies deficiencies and make enhancements to ensure production is not impacted.
Provides advice and guidance on strategies to manage identified risks and ensure adoption and adherence to standards. Contributes to development of information security policy, standards and guidelines.
Maintains a strong external network in the area of vulnerability research. Gathers information on new and emerging threats and vulnerabilities. Assesses and documents the impacts and threats to the organization. Providing expert advice and guidance to support the adoption of tools and techniques for vulnerability research. Contributes to the development of organizational policies, standards, and guidelines for vulnerability research and assessment.
Develops, maintains and tests management procedures in agreement with service owners.
Investigates escalated, non-routine and high impact incidents to responsible service owners and seek resolutions. Facilitates recovery, following resolution.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
