Minimum 1+ years intrepreter experience required.

This opportunity is for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support K-12 students in an educational setting within the Belvidere, Illinois area. The role is offered on a contract basis for the 2024-2025 school year, providing essential communication access for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Qualifications:

Possess a Professional Educator License (PEL) or hold a temporary interpreter certification

Achieve an Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.0 or higher

Available Positions:

Position 1: High School, Hampshire, IL

Full-time, 35 hours/week

Schedule: 7:30 AM 3:00 PM

Duration: ASAP through May 23, 2025

Position 2: Elementary School, Aurora, IL

Full-time, 32.5 hours/week

Duration: ASAP through June 6, 2025

Position 3: High School, Aurora, IL

Full-time, 35 hours/week

Schedule: 7:45 AM 3:15 PM (flexible start at 8:15 AM)

Duration: ASAP through end of school year

Key Responsibilities:

Facilitate effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their teachers, peers, and staff using sign language

Interpret educational materials and classroom discussions to ensure equal access to learning

Collaborate with educators, support teams, and families to support student success

Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times
