Seeking skilled Sign Language Interpreters for multiple full-time K-12 school positions in the Dekalb, IL area. These are contract roles for the upcoming school year (NSY), providing valuable communication support to students in both elementary and high school settings. Opportunities are available for interpreters with the required credentials and commitment to fostering inclusive educational environments.

Qualifications:

Possession of a valid Professional Educational License (PEL) or a temporary interpreter certification

Minimum EIPA score of 3.0 or higher

Strong commitment to working effectively with diverse student populations and educational staff

Available Positions:

Position 1: Hampshire, IL

Full-time, 35 hours/week

Schedule: 7:30 AM 3:00 PM

High school setting, single site

Immediate start through 5/23/25

Position 2: Aurora, IL

Full-time, 32.5 hours/week

Elementary school-based role

Immediate start through 6/6/25

Position 3: Aurora, IL

Full-time, 35 hours/week

High school only

Schedule: 7:45 AM 3:15 PM (flexible start time at 8:15 AM)

Immediate start through end of school year (EOSY)

Responsibilities:

Facilitate accurate and effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and school personnel

Interpret academic instruction, conversations, and school events to support student learning and engagement

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions

Collaborate with teachers and staff to address student needs and promote accessibility
