Job Title: Bench Assembler

Job Description

The bench assembler is responsible for assembling manufactured products and packing them according to specifications. The role involves following designated work instructions and procedures to ensure the production of quality products.

Responsibilities

Assemble fabricated metal products, electrical equipment, appliances, and more according to directions.

Read blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation, and build products to specifications.

Maintain logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies.

Inventory tools, parts, and supplies; contact materials handler if supplies are needed.

Periodically check products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolve any identified problems and alert supervisor.

Perform other related duties as assigned.Essential Skills

Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.

Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities and shifting time requirements.

Understand and interpret design data such as drawings and bills of materials.

Ability to make decisions regarding product acceptance per product documentation and company workmanship criteria.

Ability to effectively communicate in small and large group environments.Additional Skills & Qualifications

2-3 years of previous bench assembly experience.

Complex assembly experience.

BAC5000 sealant experience preferred.

Knowledge of production and processing, including raw materials, assembly processes, and quality control tools.

Knowledge of manufacturing documentation such as work orders, blueprints, and bills of material.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and Project computer programs.Work Environment

The role is situated in a sub-assembly and machining plant for aviation. It requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions and the ability to perform tasks in close physical proximity to other people. The position involves repetitive movements, sitting for extended periods, occasional bending, twisting, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Communication requires telephone conversations, use of email, and writing professional documents. The work demands meeting strict deadlines and the ability to shift between multiple activities.
