Pay Transparency: This position’s budgeted starting pay is $34.22 per hour. This is an hourly, non-exempt position. The full pay range is $33.22 - $35.88 per hour.

Primary Worksite Location: Seattle office

Job Summary:

The Program Manager, Material Resources oversees Treehouse’s programs focused on providing essential items to children, youth, and young adults experiencing foster care, including the Treehouse Store and Holiday Magic programs. The Treehouse Store is a free resource for youth in foster care that provides new and gently used basic items they need to be prepared for school and life. Holiday Magic provides thousands of youth in care with a new, meaningful gift each year. The Program Manager, Material Resources oversees a team of staff and hundreds of volunteers in delivering high-quality, equitable services to newborns through young adults. This is an opportunity to work directly with Treehouse staff, donors, volunteers, and clients and ensure the material needs of each participant are being met.

Creative, strategic, and detail-oriented, the Program Manager, Material Resources collaborates across departments, plans for seasonal and long-term programmatic needs, ensures data integrity and inventory accuracy, leads process improvements, and supervises staff and volunteer teams to maintain high-quality, trauma-informed, and equitable service delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead annual operational planning and budgeting to ensure program goals, contract requirements, and service delivery benchmarks are met.

Evaluate and improve operational workflows, fulfillment systems, and Store procedures to optimize client experience and resource access.

Supervise, coach, and evaluate a team of direct reports including assistant managers, coordinators, interns, and work-study staff.

Ensure accurate inventory practices, including forecasting, safety stock planning, turnover analysis, and receiving reconciliation.

Prepare and submit timely financial, programmatic, and inventory reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis.

Oversee Treehouse's contract with the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) for the Holiday Magic program, including negotiation, execution, compliance, client service delivery, and reporting.

Collaborate with the Treehouse Development and Communications teams to identify donation gaps, communicate critical needs, and support campaigns with data and impact stories.

Develop gift suggestion lists and inventory forecasts for seasonal donation drives and public partnerships.

Oversee procurement strategies, vendor relationships, and the redirection of surplus or off-season inventory to ensure efficiency and minimize waste.

Partner cross-departmentally to align material resources with program goals, events, and outreach strategies.

Ensure a trauma-informed, anti-racist, and inclusive environment for clients, volunteers, and staff across all service interactions.

Represent the program internally and externally, including with donors, state agencies, and community partners.

Guide strategy and oversee the engagement of volunteers, including both one-time and ongoing opportunities

Employees may be required to take on new tasks or adjust their current responsibilities to align with the Treehouse mission and support continuous improvement.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Oversee direct reports: assistant manager, program coordinators, work-study students, and interns.

Provide direct supervision to a diverse team and indirectly oversee volunteers and temporary staffing resources. Responsible for hiring, performance coaching, disciplinary documentation, and developmental support of team members. Requirements:

Qualifications:

At least 2 years' experience leading staff or volunteers. Preferred 2-3 years of retail management, inventory, logistics, or operations or comparable program management experience.

Current driver's license and at least minimum WA State driver insurance coverage required. Driving record must be approved by Treehouse insurance provider.

Must satisfy Washington State criminal background requirements for working with youth and vulnerable adults and clear nationwide criminal background check.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to drive company cargo van in Seattle metro area.

Ability and aptitude with Microsoft O365, including a minimum of intermediate ability in Excel, and other technology necessary for successful day-to-day functioning in a business environment.

Demonstrated success implementing operational improvements or cross-functional initiatives.

Ability to set boundaries and utilize support services to manage the personal impact of working with young people who have been placed at risk

Experience managing through change and cultivating team resilience during high-demand seasons or restructuring.

Ability and aptitude with online database systems to maintain records and data to support effective evaluation processes and analysis

Demonstrated ability to stay calm under pressure and deescalate situations when necessary. Must be able to engage in a compassionate manner and with individuals seeking resources while in crisis.

Exhibited strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate successfully through multiple platforms and provide compassionate customer service.

Demonstrated ability to initiate and drive program improvements.?

Demonstrated ability to build working relationships with individuals of various ages, cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, and abilities.

Working Conditions:

Full-time position.

Expected hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, and occasional Saturdays.

Must reside within Washington State to comply with workplace reporting requirements.

Travel:

Occasional regional travel during working hours.

Infrequent overnight travel required.
