The BPM Lead Developer is tasked with architecting, building and implementing applications utilizing the Decisions BPM platform that provides no-code integrated workflows and rules engines for business process automation for custom applications. Responsible for working with the product team to translate business requirements and user stories into functional applications through analysis, design and development. A commitment to collaborative problem solving and quality product is essential.
To ensure effective collaboration across teams, candidates must be located in the Central or Eastern Time Zones.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Translate business requirements and user stories into functional applications
Arrange project requirements in a programming sequence by preparing a workflow diagram using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, programming language, and logic.
Design, build, and maintain workflows, rules engines, and low-code integrations
Create automated unit tests to validate development before QA
Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
Manage junior BPM Development resources
Identify bottlenecks and bugs, devising solutions to mitigate and address these issues
Help maintain application quality, organization, and automatization
Participate in an agile team, collaborating with other software development personnel
Promote a positive, supportive, and innovative culture of software development
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business/Process Analysis or related major, or equivalent industry experience in a similar role
4+ years' experience with BPM or IPaaS tooling
Experience in Business Process Management with training/certifications and/or demonstrated experience with a BPM solution such as Decisions, MuleSoft, Pentaho, Boomi, etc.
Previous experience with the agile software development process and DevOps is a plus
Previous experience working with commercial lending and financial data is a plus
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong understanding of basic software development concepts such as data types, variables, iterating arrays, exception handling, etc.
Solid understanding of workflow technology and process automation methods
Development experience with programming languages
SQL database or relational database skills
Experience creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
Experience with iterative, incremental software development processes
Strong desire to continually improve and try new things
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to communicate clearly.
Ability to operate computer and office equipment, maintain paper files, move about an office environment.
Must be able to move objects up to 20 pounds.
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
