IT Computer Systems Administrator: Lake Geneva, Wisconsin

Are you an experienced IT professional with a knack for problem-solving and system optimization? Our client in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin is seeking a Computer Systems Administrator to join their team. This full-time, first-shift position offers a great opportunity to work with innovative technologies in a collaborative environment while supporting a secure and efficient IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities of the IT Computer Systems Administrator:

Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, networks, and peripherals.

Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues, applying necessary fixes or upgrades.

Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to maintain data security.

Perform regular system backups and ensure disaster recovery procedures are up to date.

Maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.

Update operating systems, software applications, and install security patches.

Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, identifying root causes.

Provide professional and timely technical support to users.

Collaborate with vendors and internal IT teams to implement new technologies.

Maintain documentation of systems, processes, and user guides.

Conduct system security audits and implement risk mitigation measures.

Recommend and execute system improvements and automation where applicable.

IT Computer Systems Administrator Requirements and Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role.

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).

Proficient with Windows and/or Linux server environments.

Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Skilled in system security, patch management, and data backup/recovery.

Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Able to work independently or as part of a team.

Experience with security best practices and conducting regular audits.

Pay for IT Computer Systems Administrator: Starting at $27-35/hour.
