Position Overview:
Hays Electrical Services is seeking a highly experienced and motivated System Administrator to support large-scale multifamily and high-rise electrical construction projects across the nation. This technical, hands-on role is perfect for someone excited to grow in IT infrastructure, cloud services, and endpoint management.
Key Responsibilities:
As a System Administrator you will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading and managing our software, hardware and networks. You’ll help maintain and support systems that power Hays Electrical Services operations while gaining valuable exposure to infrastructure projects and security initiatives.
Assist in monitoring and maintaining physical and SharePoint sites
Plan, configure, and implement SSO solutions (Azure AD) across company systems.
Configure, image, and deploy employee laptops (Windows OS)
Enforce full-disk encryption, antivirus, VPN, and endpoint protection.
Install required software packages, security tools, and remote management agents.
Support Active Directory configurations, file storage, and system patches
Contribute to backup operations and disaster recovery testing
Provide basic network support including connectivity checks and hardware setup
Help maintain VPN and wireless system functionality
Participate in onboarding and configuring new endpoint devices
Support security procedures, including antivirus deployment, patching, and incident response
Contribute to infrastructure and security projects through setup, testing, and documentation
Communicate effectively with both end users and leadership, and demonstrate self-motivation, adaptability, and commitment to continuous learning in a dynamic environment.
Provide 24/7 on-call support for mission-critical systems, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required, Associated Degree in technology or similar preferred
Minimum 3 years of experience in IT infrastructure or technical support
Foundational knowledge of Windows Server, IP networking, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft Azure
Oversee provisioning, managing storage across all platforms.
Experience with system critical security and stability patches
Manage backup administration, including disk-based and cloud offsite solutions.
Utilize Windows PowerShell scripting to automate and manage systems
Experience in managing vendor relationships to maintain hardware standards and support services.
Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of systems and configurations.
Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills
Excellent communication and collaboration mindset
