About the Role:
Golden Years Homestead is seeking a compassionate and creative Memory Care Program Coordinator to lead engaging, person-centered programming for residents in our memory care community. This role is vital in creating meaningful daily experiences that promote joy, connection, and quality of life for individuals with dementia or memory challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Live and model the mission and CROFT values to enhance the quality of life for residents and support a positive team culture.
Respect residents’ rights and promote their dignity and choices in all aspects of care and enrichment.
Lead memory care life enrichment programs, ensuring a balance of meaningful pursuits, social interaction, daily routines, personal growth, and enjoyment.
Develop and manage life enrichment calendars, tailoring programs for residents with dementia and memory care needs.
Conduct and coordinate activities, including collaboration with nursing, culinary, and other departments.
Engage residents individually and in groups, ensuring even non-participating residents receive social/recreational care.
Support regulatory compliance, maintain accurate documentation, and contribute to quality assurance efforts.
Oversee supplies, contractors, and materials for programming, and maintain an organized and safe environment.
Promote continuous learning, keeping up with trends and best practices in memory care and enrichment.
Assist with assessments and care planning.
Foster an environment of flexibility, safety, and readiness, including participation in drills, infection control, and accommodating evening/weekend programs.
Qualifications:
Certification in recreational programming, dementia care, or similar field (required).
1 - 2 years experience working with seniors in long-term memory care (required).
Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Basic computer skills and a valid driver’s license required.
Work Schedule:
Must be flexible, with availability for some evenings and weekends to accommodate special events and programming.
