Job duties: Provide technical and commercial sales support to the Account Manager and the customers they serve. Coordinate with the Account Manager to identify opportunities, provide product solutions, and lead the customer through the sales process. Work with Account Managers and Principals to develop competitive bid packages for capital projects and daily quotes. Determine the selling price of equipment and services available from the Company by utilizing manufacturer-supplied tools and Company business systems. Evaluate customer requirements and identify opportunities for optimizing margin and expanding the scope of products/services supplied. Interact with customers daily by telephone and email and participate in customer meetings. Provide technical solutions to challenging applications and respond to customer technical queries. Create and update opportunities in Salesforce. Facilitate order entry by reviewing customer purchase orders, providing order entry instructions to the Project Administrator, and setting up kickoff meetings with the Project Management team. Ensure the Project Management team and Operations comply with project performance and documentation requirements. Responds to technical queries from Operations and Project Management teams. Manage change of customer requirements to quotations and active orders, reducing non-conformance while driving customer satisfaction. Evaluate and suggest improvements to team processes and tools to improve efficiency and increase customer dependency. Assist Account Managers with implementing strategic and tactical sales plans. Ensure the Inside Sales Manager is aware of issues that may impact a customer, the team, or the company. Develop, present, or respond to proposals for specific customer requirements, including request for proposal responses and industry-specific solutions. Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products, and to provide sales support. Visit prospective buyers at commercial, industrial, or other establishments to show samples or catalogs, and to inform them about product pricing, availability, and advantages. Keep informed on industry news and trends, products, services, competitors, relevant information about legacy, existing, and emerging technologies, and the latest product-line developments. Identify resale opportunities and support them to achieve sales plans. Confer with customers and engineers to assess equipment needs and to determine system requirements. Plan and modify product configurations to meet customer needs. Prepare and deliver technical presentations that explain products or services to customers and prospective customers. Recommend improved materials or machinery to customers, documenting how such changes will lower costs or increase production. Document account activities, generate reports, and keep records of business transactions with customers and suppliers. Research and identify potential customers for products or services. Secure and renew orders and arrange delivery. Develop sales plans to introduce products in new markets. Attend trade shows and seminars to promote products or to learn about industry developments. Attend company training seminars to become familiar with product lines. Train team members in the customer applications of technologies. Sell products requiring extensive technical expertise and support for installation and use, such as material handling equipment, numerical-control machinery, or computer systems. Provide information needed for the development of custom-made machinery. Provide technical and non-technical support and services to clients or other staff members regarding the use, operation, and maintenance of equipment. Diagnose problems with installed equipment. Report to supervisors about prospective firms' credit ratings.
Minimum Requirements for Position: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Industrial Distribution, or a related field. Three (3) years of experience in technical and commercial sales support process for control and flow control product solutions, including valve automation, isolation valves, and Fisher valves, for the oil and gas, refining, and petrochemical industries. Must have experience with sizing pneumatic and electric actuators for isolation valves; sizing and/or selecting controls for pneumatic panels; and large-scale capital project sales, including quotes and order execution.
