Job Description

***CONTINGENT ON CONTRACT AWARD***

The Simulator Console Operator (SCO) keeps the MQ-9 simulator enterprise running in real time, loading missions before crews arrive, sitting "on-console" throughout each event, and tweaking the tactical picture on the fly so that every sortie feels like the real thing. If you're an MQ-9 pilot, sensor operator, or seasoned sim guru who can speak MACE, MSAT/MJAT, and mIRC fluently, this is your seat.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Pre-mission setup: Load the correct Desktop Trainer (DTT), Distributed Mission Operations (DMO), or full-motion sim profile before the crew steps in.

Live mission support: Remain on-station for the entire event providing real-time tactical changes, emergency procedure support, and white-cell role-play (friendly/enemy aircraft, ground forces, outside agencies, etc.).

Scenario management: Link multiple simulators for multi-ship ops; adjust threat lay-downs and inject voice or mIRC traffic exactly when the script (or the instructor) demands it.

Troubleshooting: Diagnose and correct simulator, network, or software hiccups on the fly; coordinate with on-site OEM reps as needed.

Logs & reporting: Maintain time-use logs, discrepancy logs, and daily status for coordination with the simulator manufacturer and unit leadership.

Content development (when sims are idle): Work with Weapons & Tactics, Training, and Current Ops to refine dance cards, Zeus/CAVOK/TACSIT profiles, and program new events in MACE or follow-on software.

Debrief support: Provide objective feedback to instructors and aircrews immediately after each sortie to sharpen lessons learned.

Special missions: Run non-instructional sims in support of continuation training, mishap investigations, test events, or distinguished-visitor demos, adapting the scenario on demand. Minimum Qualifications:

Experience: At least 2 years as an MQ-9 Pilot, MQ-9 Sensor Operator, or MQ-9 Simulator/Console Operator supporting MQ-9 operations.

Systems expertise: High proficiency with MQ-9 simulator software suites-including MACE and MSAT/MJAT-and comfortable working DTT and DMO environments.

Security clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI (with the ability to access SAP, NATO, ACCM, and other mission-specific networks).

Professional record: No adverse administrative, judicial, or criminal actions in the last five years; honorable military separation (if applicable).

Technical skills: Solid grasp of mIRC, standard Microsoft Office tools, and networked simulator architectures.

Physical/operational: Ability to sit at a console for extended periods, wear a headset, and support 24/7 operations on a rotational schedule. Preferred Qualifications

Prior MQ-9 Instructor experience or formal schoolhouse background.

Experience integrating MQ-9 sims into large-force DMO events.

Familiarity with Modern Air Combat Environment scripting and threat database management.
