LOCATION: Cascadia Technical Academy (CTA)

REPORTS TO: Cascadia Technical Academy Director

DEPARTMENT: Secondary

Hours / Work Times

4 Hours Per Day (12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.)

260 Days Per Year

This position will remain open until a qualified applicant is selected. The earliest date a recommendation for hire may be submitted is after 06/25/25.

Salary Placement: New employees will start at the minimum hourly rate in the classification salary range. However, employees who have verified prior years of service of similar occupational experience may receive experience credit towards salary step placement.

SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Cascadia Technical Academy's Plan 2 Program is designed for Career & Technical Education (CTE) instructors pursuing certification through the business and industry routes. As a state-approved program recognized by the Professional Standards Educator Board, it plays a critical role in developing the next generation of CTE professionals. Under the direction of the CTA Director and the Plan 2 Program Coordinator, the Plan 2 Program Support Clerk provides essential administrative and logistical support to ensure the efficient operation of the CTE Plan 2 programs. This position is responsible for organizing program offerings and events, communicating with stakeholders, maintaining records, and assisting in the daily functions that keep the program running smoothly.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assist in planning and coordinating Plan 2 program offerings, workshops, and special events.

Conduct outreach to prospective students through community organizations, industry partnerships, and initiatives focused on underrepresented populations.

Serve as a point of contact for program participants, school staff, and members of the public, providing timely and accurate information.

Manage event and course registrations; track attendance and follow up as needed.

Collect, organize, and maintain program-related data and records in compliance with reporting requirements.

Respond to general inquiries via phone, email, or in person, directing individuals to appropriate resources when necessary.

Perform a variety of public relations functions including representing the program at events and conferences (which may require travel within Washington State).

Compile data and generate reports to support program evaluation and improvement.

Identify and help resolve routine operational problems or discrepancies.

Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support program success OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT NECESSARY:

Computer/laptop, telephone, copy machines, fax machine, and other equipment necessary to perform the essential functions listed above.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

(Testing may be required.)

Basic typing/keyboarding skills of 50 wpm.

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree or some college coursework preferred.

Work experience in program assistance or event planning.

Experience with teacher certification and career technical education preferred.

Minimum of two years experience in administrative support or a related role, preferably in educational or nonprofit setting.

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn new software systems.

Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.

Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills and detail-oriented.
