Summary Objective Under the supervision of the Public Works Director, the Solid Waste Code Compliance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the administration, supervision, and technical management of the solid waste and recycling collection services contract.
This role includes planning, directing, coordinating, and monitoring staff, materials, and contractors to ensure efficient service delivery and strict contract compliance.
The position requires considerable independent judgment and initiative to meet program objectives within established policies and regulations.
Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as the Officer frequently interacts with the general public, City staff, and contractors.
Additionally, the Solid Waste Code Compliance Supervisor, manages, schedules, and assigns personnel, while also overseeing and coordinating activities related to security services and janitorial contracts.
Other related duties may be performed as required.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in environmental science, engineering, business administration, or closely related field (Education will be verified), and three (3) years' experience in solid waste operations, solid waste contract management, public works or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Two (2) years of supervisory experience is required.
Must possess a valid Florida Class E Driver's License.
