Job Description

Reporting To: President

Department: Quality

Role Objective

The Quality & Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for ensuring that all products meet the customer quality standards. This role involves developing and implementing quality control systems, monitoring production processes, and leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.

Salary Range: $135K - $170K

Sign-On Bonus $10K

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a quality department in a mid-to-high volume manufacturing facility.

Schedule and plan daily throughput of the quality department across all shifts.

Evaluate and make recommendations for product and system non-conformance issues.

Collaborate and problem solve with customer quality and engineering departments as necessary.

Where needed, develop and institute quality and inspection procedures that are consistent with the current company policy and that will enhance the system.

Manage supplier quality program.

Hire and train mechanical inspectors as required to ensure sufficient staffing.

Work closely with upper management to evaluate, identify and isolate areas within the organization that can be improved or re-structured to provide our customers with the highest quality product possible in the most efficient manner.

Review and evaluate the performance of the quality department.

Make recommendations regarding wages, promotions, and terminations of quality department to senior management.

Optimize total Cost of Quality for the organization.

Review and update quality manual periodically for compliance to prevailing ISO and customer requirements and specifications.

Lead management review meetings.

Ensure employees adhere to company rules and safety regulations.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in quality management, engineering, business administration, or a related field is required (Master’s degree preferred).

5+ years of experience in quality management within a high-tech manufacturing environment.

Proven expertise in cleanroom assembly, cleaning processes (especially ultrasonic cleaning, and contamination control.

Hands-on experience with high-precision machining, GD&T, and metrology tools.

Deep knowledge of regulatory and quality standards relevant to the semiconductor, aerospace, medical, and energy sectors.

Certified Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt strongly preferred.

Experience with quality software (e.g., QMS, SPC, Minitab) and ERP systems.

Familiarity with related quality functions such as calibration practices, statistical process control, and total quality management concepts.
