General Laborer II (Assembler)

Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Experienced General Laborer is responsible for executing more complex warehouse operations with minimal supervision. This position requires a solid understanding of inventory management and shipping processes, allowing the individual to work independently while ensuring high-quality standards are met. The Experienced General Laborer will contribute to team efforts and assist in training less experienced staff.

Role and Responsibilities

Assemble, fit, and secure parts of vertical turbine bowls, including bearings, seals, impellers, and diffusers, following blueprints and assembly instructions.

Apply and secure gaskets, seals, and lubricants as required during the assembly process.

Collaborate with the engineering and quality assurance teams to recommend improvements to assembly processes and product design based on assembly experience.

Assist production departments by supporting machine operators in the production process and carrying out more complex tasks assigned with minimal supervision.

Performing cycle counts on inventory.

Assist in the preparation of the physical inventory.

Oversee the organization and maintenance of inventory in the warehouse, ensuring optimal storage and accessibility.

Collaborate with supervisors to improve workflow processes and implement safety measures.

Perform general housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Mentor entry-level staff and assist with any additional duties assigned by the Supervisor or other leaders in the company.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

High School diploma or GED required; relevant experience in a similar role preferred.

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.

Strong ability to follow instructions and apply them effectively.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a mechanical assembly role, with specific experience in assembling vertical turbine pumps or similar equipment.

Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments

Physical

Must be able to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, repetitive motions and standing for extended periods.
