About the Opportunity:
Our client, a respected and expanding multidisciplinary consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Structural Forensic Engineer to join their Investigative Services division in Franklin, Tennessee. This is a pivotal role for an experienced professional who thrives on solving complex structural challenges and delivering expert-level insights.
As a third-party recruitment partner, we're looking for candidates who bring both technical depth and strong communication skills, professionals who can lead investigations, mentor junior staff, and represent the firm in high-stakes environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead forensic investigations into structural failures, construction defects, and damage assessments across a variety of property types.
Conduct detailed site inspections and structural evaluations, often in post-event or distressed conditions.
Analyze root causes of failures due to design flaws, material degradation, natural disasters, or workmanship issues.
Prepare comprehensive technical reports and expert witness documentation.
Provide litigation support, including depositions and courtroom testimony when required.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge sharing and process improvement.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Tennessee or eligible for reciprocity.
8+ years of structural engineering experience, with at least 3 years in forensic investigations.
Strong command of structural analysis tools and investigative methodologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in technical reporting and client interactions.
Experience with expert witness testimony is a strong plus.
Willingness to travel regionally for site inspections and client meetings.
Work Environment:

Compensation & Benefits:
Salary Range: $115,000 - $145,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Bonus Potential: Performance-based annual bonus.
