Job Title: QC Analytical Lab Associate - Mircrobiology

Location: Allentown

Pay Rate: $24.00/hour

Schedule: 8 am till 4:30 pm

Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated QC Analytical Lab Associate I to support microbiological quality control testing in a GMP-compliant laboratory. The successful candidate will contribute to critical lab functions including sterility testing, bacterial endotoxin testing, environmental monitoring, and media preparation. This role requires a strong foundation in aseptic technique, good documentation practices, and a willingness to work in a cleanroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Sterility Testing using the direct inoculation method in an ISO 5 cleanroom. Requires full aseptic gowning (hood, jumpsuit, boots, face mask, gloves) and strict aseptic technique.

Bacterial Endotoxin Testing (BET) utilizing the Kinetic Chromogenic method. Sample preparation includes depyrogenation, disassembly, dilution, and 96-well plate analysis.

Media Preparation: Prepare TSB media and autoclave tools, glassware, and media for sterility testing and growth promotion.

Growth Promotion & pH Testing on both in-house and purchased media.

Environmental Monitoring: Gown into production areas to perform viable and non-viable sampling (air particulates, air microbial, surface). Incubate and read plates; document all results accurately.

Glassware & Equipment Maintenance: Depyrogenation, washing, sterilization, and scheduled preventative maintenance of lab tools and equipment.

Additional Duties:

Trend environmental monitoring data

Perform gram staining and subculturing of environmental isolates

Collect samples for bioburden and cytotoxicity testing

Support off-test activities and other routine lab tasks

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related field)

Demonstrated understanding of aseptic techniques and cleanroom gowning procedures

Familiarity with GMP documentation standards and lab safety practices

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs

Comfortable working with biological samples and laboratory equipment, including autoclaves and laminar flow hoods
