Summary This Program Manager position is aligned to the Program Management Department of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division and is established to support a major air weapons system acquisition program.

Responsibilities You will be responsible for overall program management, direction and control of the acquisition, development, integration, testing, production, fielding, and life cycle support of major air weapons systems.

You will develop, plan, analyze, and execute projects across the full system life cycle.

You will plan and manage cost, schedule, and performance requirements for acquisition of end-items.

You will manage development of new or improved air weapons system capability.

You will exercise discretion and judgment in determining whether to broaden or narrow the scope of air weapons system projects/programs.

You will maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders to support the success of the air weapons system acquisition program.

Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized Program Manager experience equivalent to the DA-05 STRL Pay Band or GS-Grade Level (GS-12/13) equivalent in the Federal Service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: (1) Applying a wide range of technical and business systems, processes, and practices used to manage air weapon systems acquisition; (2) Reviewing, analyzing, and implementing higher level procurement policies; (3) Managing project/program requirements, objectives and metrics, and resolving conflicts among schedules, funding, and resources for assigned program; (4) Demonstrated working knowledge of contract management, acquisition management and financial management to support assigned air weapons system program needs; (5) Identifying opportunities to incorporate process improvements and best practices utilizing customer feedback, internal and external audits, self-assessment, and lessons learned activities; and (6) Advising management and colleagues on difficult problems by proposing options and alternatives.
